Super pleasant surprise. Called my order in got a dinner Sesame chicken substituted rice for noodles an egg roll, crab Rangoon, and a hot and sour soup. $12.00!!! Delicious, hot and freshly made. I will not give the 5th star because I had to drive to get it. Lol! Altogether a great neighborhood find
Food is really good, and very cheap. You also get a lot of food. Just be careful when you call in an order or pick it up. I asked for chicken and got beef. Son asked for wonton soup, and we both got hot and sour. $18, flat, for two which includes soup and one side of egg roll, crab Rangoon, or a wing.
Went here the other day for takeout. The portions were pretty decent and the price I think was very reasonable. I couldn't rate the service or the waiter because it was takeout. I would definitely go back again.
I used to eat at this hole in the wall when I worked in the area back in 2005. My family and I were in the area so we decided to eat here. It was the same on the inside, and the food was just as good. They serve huge portions, so for me, it makes two meals! If you're looking for big portions with a small cost, this place is for you!
Reasonably priced meals, big servings and fast service. Food is good as well. Lady consistently takes orders fast but sharp and accurate
Gassssss!!! We love China Star and I finally remembered to take a pic of my food before devouring it this time -- my favorite part about the menu is that they offer a combination dinner plate where you can eat select two different entrées, which I usually get the chicken and broccoli and vegetable lo mein. It doesn't end there, they also give you a choice of fried or white rice, and either crab Rangoon or a chicken wing -- yes, you read that right, and the chicken wings are fire! They threw in some eggrolls last night with my crab rangoon because we were ordering late, so it just shows that the customer service maybe isn't what other people are used to looking at the reviews, but they always hold it down with the portions and I can't complain!!
All right, I have been going here since 2016. This is a very small family oriented restaurant.. it's probably easier for you to order to go because they have a lot of the area blocked off since Covid, it's very dark in here however, it is so cheap. I know that a lot of people are comparing this to authentic Chinese food or a very expensive high and Chinese food. However, if you're looking for a cheap price and a lot of food, I think that this is the way to go.. the lo mein is very good , you can ask for spicy and it's pretty good. I've gotten the peppered steak and that's also good.. their eggrolls are so good I personally order multiple. I normally don't order raccoons because I feel like the tips get a little too crispy, regardless of a place that I go to, however to each their own. I personally feel like this is a very affordable alternative for those who don't have a lot of money, but still want to get a lot of food for their value I personally rate this 8/10 in regards to the value for the price.
Absolutely loved this little place! It's not pretty outside or that pretty inside either, but I kinda like that about it. The lights were pretty dim and it was kinda cozy in my opinion. We came during lunch special and was greeted and seated quickly. Most items on the lunch special are less than $7 and come with soup, an appetizer(egg roll, chicken wing or cheese Rangoon), and fried rice. The portions are huge, my 6'3 husband couldn't even finish it all and we had plenty left over for dinner. Everything was pretty tasty for the price, no complaints here! We'll definitely be back for more.
Cheap, fast, and nice service! Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal. She was so sweet and a fast worker! The egg drop soup, wow, chef kiss. I haven't had good egg drop soup in who knows how long. The serving sizes were HUGE! No one finished their plates and we had tons of left overs! Half of the seating area was closed off, not to sure why. So the seating area was sorta small maybe 6 / 7 tables. It was worth it and yummy too.
I was a little skeptical from the outside. The restaurant is in a run down strip center. Once I sat down my concerns did not go away. The restaurant is small but very clean. The waitress was efficient and very nice. The soup was delicious. My food came quickly. It was prepared after I ordered it and was served hot. I highly recommend China Star. The price was under $7.00 and the food was delicious. The servings are large.
